Mission of the Personal Lines Production Agent

The Inside Sales Agent is responsible for achieving sales targets and effectively cultivating client rapport while embodying the HLI WAY. Through proactive communication with potential and existing clients you will grow the agency’s book of business, ensuring client needs are met with the highest standards of service. This will include calling on lost business, unsold quotes and monoline business for account rounding.

Key Responsibilities of This Role

Sales and Client Management:
1. Achieve a minimum monthly sales target of $50,000 in new premium as of 2025.
2. Regularly contact the lost business list, unsold quotes nearing renewal, and monoline accounts for reviews and rounding opportunities.
3. Market all accounts effectively and present tailored proposals.
4. Align business placement with the agency’s strategic goals.
5. Engage actively with customers, listening attentively and asking questions to understand their needs and forge strong relationships.
6. Strive to maintain a closing ratio of over 50% by adhering to the new business sales process.
7. Create a pipeline of opportunities from lost quotes.
8. Actively manage open opportunity pipeline
Performance Improvement and Skill Development:
1. Commit to regularly enhancing technical and sales skills.
2. Strive to achieve at least 70% multiline accounts on average. (policies per client)
Operational Excellence and Efficiency:
1. Respond to new inbound inquiries as quickly as possible.
2. Conduct diligent follow-ups (5-6 calls with an email) on new web business and after presenting pricing.
3. Complete all required outbound calls weekly, ensuring consistent client engagement.
4. Update Applied with complete notes for all touch points.
5. Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and risk quality (ideal client profile) using the agency’s upfront UW guidelines.
6. In conjunction with the production support team process insurance applications, including obtaining signatures, payments, binding coverage, and finalizing underwriting needs.
Marketing and Branding Support:
1. Collaborate with the marketing team by suggesting content ideas for blogs, emails, and social media.
2. Contribute to agency branding efforts, including participating in photoshoots when invited.
3. Aim to obtain 5 new client google reviews monthly.
4. Actively seek referrals from clients
Professional Attitude and Team Collaboration:
1. Uphold a positive mental attitude and foster positive relationships with clients and agency staff.
2. Consistently work to improve efficiency.
Complete urgent service requests when needed
1. Occasionally service requests cannot wait for the service team to process, in these cases whoever answers the request will need to process. Some examples include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Process payments
  2. Make policy changes (both getting signed forms first and processing on carrier site)
  3. Provide dec pages
Other responsibilities as directed by management

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to Julie Levine.

Required qualifications

Must be able to work onsite from our office in Dr. Phillips five days a week
Prior customer service or sales experience
Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies
Willingness to pursue insurance license if not already licensed

Preferred qualifications

Licensed insurance agent
Prior agency experience
Experience with Applied Systems Epic
Experience in life insurance

Critical Competencies

Feedback:

Monthly meeting with the Julie Levine to review pipeline, sales and management system usage.
Every 90 days you will meet with your manager to review any bottlenecks, ideas you have to improve as well as the objectives outlined in your job description.
Each year you will receive a formal review.
